'Radioflash' filming closing Denton Road
HOPE — The east end of Denton Road will be closed starting today to accommodate filming of “Radioflash.”
The road will be closed to all but local traffic from 1 p.m. on Friday until 1 a.m. on Saturday morning, said Debbie Allen, an assistant at Bonner County Road & Bridge.
“The road will be closed for that 12-hour period for their filming,” Allen said.
The closure will be in place between the 2800 block to the 4800 block. Only residents who live along that stretch of road will be allowed access.
“Radioflash,” according to the film’s logline, tells the survival tale following an electromagnetic pulse that disables the nation’s electrical grid following a nuclear attack.
The film stars Dominic Monaghan, Brighton Sharbino and Will Patton, according to the Internet Movie Database.
Monaghan is known for role in the “Lord of the Rings” film adaptations, while Sharbino has appeared in “The Walking Dead” and “True Detective” television series. Patton has been in countless films and TV shows over the years, including “Armageddon” and “Meek’s Cutoff” and “24.”
Patton also acted in the 1997 Kevin Costner film, “The Postman,” part of which was shot in Metaline, Wash.
The film is being directed by Ben McPherson, who is shooting from a script he co-wrote with Matt Redhawk.
A release date for the film is pending.
The Denton Road film comes after spending two days filming an action sequence on the Bridge to Nowhere on Highway 200 earlier this month. Residents reported that scenes were also filmed at Sandpoint Gas & Go on Wednesday.
