CLARK FORK — Josh Constantin ran for 125 yards on 12 carries and scored three second half touchdowns, leading Clark Fork to an impressive 44-12 win over Kootenai in Homecoming football action Friday night in Clark Fork.

The Warriors (2-2, 2-2 WSL) dressed just nine players, but came out with some fire as Andrew Whipple scored on runs of 64 and 28 yards to stake his team to a 12-0 first quarter lead.

“With all the Homecoming festivities, the kids came out a little bit too jacked up, beating ourselves, playing too aggressively,” said Cats head coach Brian Arthun. “We settled down in the second quarter, and scored two drives on the arm of Wade Stevens.”

The Wampus Cats (2-3, 2-1 WSL) got a one yard run from Stevens and Bryant Moore hauled in a 17 yard strike from Stevens to help Clark Fork take a 16-12 lead into halftime. Moore finished with 64 yards receiving, while Stevens ran for 44 and threw for 74 yards.

Constantin went to work in the second half capping three drives with scores, while Theo Icardo added another as the Cats employed some ground and pound, eight man style, with the Warriors finishing with just eight players.

“We just wore them down. Kootenai put up a good fight. Our offensive line was doing a good job of moving them up front,” said Arthun, praising the running of the sophomore Constantin. “It was kind of a breakout night for him, he ran with aggression and fury, broke a lot of tackles and made some great cutbacks. He and Theo are a really good combination.”

Clark Fork is at White Star League power Deary on Friday.
