Sen. Shawn Keough’s annual voting records, as rated by the Idaho Freedom Foundation Index, are worse than all registered Democrats. Considering bills related to tax matters, we find the friendly personality wielding some major damage to conservative philosophy. Any surprise that Rep. Heather Scott’s challenger, though he claims to agree with Scott’s votes, is married to Keough funding sources and policy. Typical establishment … wanting it impossibly both ways. A reality check demonstrates an IFF rating for Keough of 45 does not equal Scott’s 99.
With public officials including LPOSD Superintendent Shawn Woodward receiving $15,000-plus bonuses, with Northern Lights trustee Jim Woodward receiving as much as $2,200-plus monthly for three to 10 hours (calculate) of work and with Keough auditioning for a $50,000-plus retirement income increase, taxpayers should question who and what we are voting for.
A recent opening in Gov. Butch Otter’s “cabinet” is apparently reserved for “retiring” Sen. Keough. Appointment to director of Idaho Department of Lands will more than triple Keough’s annual retirement salary in 3.5 years and is only coincidental separation from senate and representative seats in the Legislature. Woodward and Mike Boeck are funded by Keough’s existing campaign account; liberal, establishment and lobby money. Political cronyism scripts are on full display.
The days of hand-picking “establishment” controlled successors have been erased as evidenced by President Trump’s defeat of Hillary … in the sequel to Obama. Crony endorsements are perceived less favorably in today’s political environment, especially when voters recognize the theme of “the play.”
Vote Heather Scott, Danielle Ahrens, and Scott Herndon to the Idaho Legislature.
