Sunday Afternoon Basketball fun offered for youth girls

| April 6, 2018 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Local girls in third through eighth grades are invited to attend Sunday Afternoon Basketball (SAB) on most Sundays in April and May from 2-4 p.m. at Sandpoint High School.

SAB is put on by the SHS girls basketball program and new head coach Will Love, and includes an hour of skills instruction and contests from SHS coaches. There is no fee for participating and drop-ins are welcome at any time.

“Our intent with Sunday Afternoon Basketball is to give younger girls in our area who enjoy basketball a chance outside the normal season to dribble, shoot and pass for a couple of hours,” Love said. “We want to give girls the opportunity to develop their basketball skills and play for a bit in a fun, no-pressure environment.”

For questions about SAB, contact Love by email at william.love@lposd.org or follow the girls basketball program on Facebook at www.facebook.com/sandpointhoops.

SAB will occur each Sunday for the next two months, except on May 13 (Mother’s Day) and May 27 (Memorial Day Weekend).
