In response to Samantha Bobby’s opinion letter she is a prime example of the sheep kids are turning into. Making statements that they are told and not researching the actual facts. There are laws on the books for most of her statements such as buying a gun on the internet, (against the law if not shipped to a licensed ffl dealer) and buying a gun through a pawn shop (have to fill out same paperwork as at a gun dealer).

When you fill out a 4473 form you are asked a series of questions and it also states it is a crime to answer falsely. These questions are used when the dealer calls into ATF to get verification whether they can sell you a gun. It is against the law for a felon to posses a firearm. If all agencies would follow up as they are supposed to would report crimes, mental health issues as they are supposed to, 90 percent of this stuff would stop. I suggest you look at more facts such as the FBI website to get your facts, and then channel your energy into finding out why 10 to 11 kids a day die from texting and driving, or why so many teens commit suicide every day 90 percent of this stuff would stop.

We have laws on the books and more will not do any good until we enforce the ones we have. Take the cities with the most severe gun laws in the U.S. out of the equation and you will see that more laws will not help, but the shooting statistics will drop by a large amount.
