Another election season is upon us, manifesting itself into full maturity when the grouping of lawn signs ultimately signify who is affiliated to who. Vote.

It was until this year easy to see who was affiliated with Shawn Keough, signifying an “establishment” philosophy. Without Keough in the race the group of “establishment” names include Donna Gow, Glen Bailey, Brad Little, Jim Woodward and Mike Boeck.

In another neighbor’s yard you’ll find a less consistent grouping, differing only by varying degrees, of affiliation to a philosophy signifying “liberty-freedom-constitution,” names including Heather Scott, Priscilla Giddings, Michael Snyder, Russ Fulcher, Danielle Ahrens, Scott Herndon, Richard Miller, Dennis Englehardt, Dan McDonald and Steven Bradshaw. Vote.

The signs this season have gone big. This may be a response of “keeping up with the Joneses,” or perhaps the very importance of this year’s (must vote) May 15 crowded primary election. The ideological position that each candidate represents, in almost every race down the ballot, varies. Most of the candidates have a website that can be found by “googling” ‘Idaho/Bonner County (candidate) and (position). Vote.

The May 15 election will determine who wins each office. November’s general election winner is usually dominated by Republican primary winners. The left desires small turn-out for the greatest effect of “watering-down” or usurping the conservative vote, thus high turn-out on May 15 is imperative to the conservative agenda. Vote.

The federal “wilderness designation,” an undesired permanent seizure of Idaho’s public land, is another hot-button issue on the ballot. Vote.
