What should a voter consider when deciding on a candidate? We have to consider what makes up the political spectrum before narrowing the field.
On both sides, we have centrist milquetoasts that only have minor differences. They meekly agree with everybody. Why even bother? Further out, we meet fervent believers. Fervent believers have definitive ideas on how government should be conducted. Yet, they can hear the ideas of others and try to incorporate those ideas into solutions for problems, still meeting with their own core beliefs.
Then the political spectrum, on both sides, moves into the crazies. Crazies are so intransigent that they are not capable of hearing the opinions of others. Finally, we have the absolutely bat crap crazies. Who knows what drives these people? All I know is that the political agendas on both sides seem to be driven by the crazies and absolutely bat crap crazies - for no other reason than sane people are afraid of waking up with a horse’s head in their bed if they don’t go along.
It is for these reasons that I am endorsing Danielle Ahrens for Idaho Senate, District 1. I have known Danielle for more than a decade. We might not agree on everything but who does? She has always looked me in the eye and has a cogent applicable answer instead of a canned talking point. That means that she actually listened to me and considered my opinion. Danielle knows the issues and fits into the fervently conservative category.
