COEUR d’ALENE — Seniors Noah Hastings and Terron Tvrdy, both accomplished soccer players, notched straight set wins at No. 2 and No. 3 boys singles, leading the Bulldog tennis team in a 8-4 loss to Coeur d’Alene on Wednesday.

“Noah’s speed and court presence was electrifying. This was the best match of his high school career,” described Bulldog head coach Kent Anderson. “Terron played his first ever high school singles match and shocked his opponent with a strong win. Terron is a great athlete and he used his athleticism to the max.”

April and Amy Clark pulled off a huge upset at No. 1 girls doubles, giving the Bulldog girls a sweep in doubles.

“Amy and April pulled an unbelievable victory out of the jaws of defeat. After losing the first set and falling behind in the 2nd set 4-1, they completely changed their strategy and played the most solid tennis of the year,” described Andrson. “Amy’s relentlessly consistent ground strokes and April’s aggressive net play brought them back to the third set, super tie breakers victory.”

The Bulldogs are at Lakeland today.
