Just to be a bit clearer about guns and such, according to the Center for Disease Control, in 2015, (facts available), there were 39,870 people under the age of 24 who died in the U.S. That same year there were 22 deaths from school shootings, (four faculty, 18 students). Out of nearly 40,000 deaths only 18 young people were from school shootings. In 2016, five students died from school shootings; 2017, seven students; and 2018, 23 includes the students from Parkland. All these deaths from school shootings were too many.
Realistically, accidents kill more Americans under age 24 (CDC). Drug and alcohol driving is the major cause of death of this age group (CDC). Texting while driving kills far more young people than any school shootings (CDC).
So what’s up youngsters, how come you are not protesting these causes?
