NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that the Sandpoint Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing at their meeting on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 1123 Lake Street, Sandpoint, ID, to consider the following: OA18-01; Short Term Rental of Dwelling Units: The City has initiated amendments to Sandpoint City Code, Title 3, Chapter 12, regarding Short Term Rentals and Title 9, Chapter 4 regarding the allowance for short term rentals within the residential zones. The ordinance seeks to eliminate the 300' buffer requirement; limit the number of non-owner occupied short term rentals in residential neighborhoods; limit short term rentals to one per parcel in residential neighborhoods; revise the purpose statement; modify the inactivity clause; amend the definitions section; relax building code requirements while maintaining public safety standards; create permitting standards in all zones; amend violations and penalties; add an infraction provision; provide standards for evidence of a violation; eliminate the business license requirement; eliminate the one owner per short term rental requirement; provide for various other refinements; amend Sandpoint City Code, Title 9, Chapter 4 for allowance of and compatibility with the short term rental regulations in the residential single-family, multi-family and rural residential zones while eliminating reference to bed and breakfast establishments and standards thereto.
