Kudos to Rick and his sons for removing the large tree blocking the path to my house on Bottle Bay Road during the first big snowfall of the year.

Loaf & Ladle

My wife and I recently decided we’d beat the blues and take a drive to our favorate getaway, Sandpoint. Driving around town we stumbled on what for is a new restaurant, Loaf & Ladle. This new restaurant impressed us in so many ways. The service was friendly and informative. The window seating gave the feeling of natural openness and the use of succulents is charming. But most impressive was the menu. Well organized, informative and intelligent, it reminded us of Palm Court Grill at the Davenport in Spokane. We lunched on carmelized French onion that reminded us of Paris, and the fish tacos had plenty of avocado and grilled salmon. We left with every intention of coming back in the spring when we can enjoy another marvelous meal, maybe next time on the patio.
