'Garden to Table' class announced
Come cook (and dine) with the WSU Pend Oreille County Extension Master Gardeners and SNAP education staff at the “Garden to Table – Cooking with Herbs” class on Thursday, Aug. 9.
The class will begin at 3:30 p.m. and continue until 6 p.m. at the WSU/Pend Oreille County Extension Office, 227-A S. Garden Ave., in Newport. The class will start by touring and harvesting vegetables and herbs from the Master Gardener demonstration garden, then move into the Extension building to incorporate the pickings into the planned dishes.
Come hungry because you will get to eat what you cook. Seating is limited to 16 participants and you must pre-register. The cost for the class is $5 for community members and $3 for Master Gardeners. All funds raised from the class will be used by the local Master Gardener Foundation to provide gardening education programs to the community. Please pre-register by calling the WSU/Pend Oreille County Extension Office at 1-509-447-2401 to provide contact information should the class schedule change and ensure adequate materials for all participants will be available.
