Cheryl Jo Mahorney-Bittle, 72

Cheryl Jo Mahorney-Bittle, 72, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, at the Church of the Nazarene in Sandpoint with Pastor Chad Wilks officiating.

Cheryl was born on Aug. 11, 1945, in Danville, Illinois, to Robert and Rosemary Mahorney. She grew up in Long Beach, California, and graduated from Poly High School in 1963.

She received her associate of arts degree from Long Beach City College.

Cheryl married Gary Bittle in 1970 in Long Beach. Cheryl worked in the schools in Long Beach. In 1990 she went to work for LA County as an eligibility worker. Her husband, Gary passed away in 2004, Cheryl retired in 2010 and moved to Sandpoint.

She is a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Sandpoint. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, crafting, sewing, cooking, collecting nativity scenes, and Irish heritage.

She is survived by her daughterm Janene (Greg) Kain of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; a brother, Bob Mahorney of Sandpoint; three grandchildren, Gary, Sara, and Adeleine; one great-grandson, Tuff; and a niece Tamara Harati.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gary Bittle, son Gary Bittle, and sister Marna Mahorney.
