Heat wave warning
Triple digit heat is expected Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The hottest day looks to be Thursday with many lowland areas flirting with record high temperatures.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory, which is in effect from 2 p.m. Wednesday to 8 p.m. Friday. Temperatures are expected to hit high in the 90s to low 100s.
Hot temperatures and limited relief overnight will increase chances for heat related illness especially for those without access to air conditioning. Heat stress is also possible for livestock and outdoor pets.
The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. People are reminded to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room if possible, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
