COEUR d’ALENE — Mike Randles, who has served as an assistant principal the previous two years, has been named the athletic director at Coeur d’Alene High for the 2018-19 school year.

“Mr. Randles has over 20 years of coaching experience, which combined with his strong reputation as a building administrator make him a great fit to move into this role,” Coeur d’Alene High principal Bret Heller said.

Randles taught and coached in Sandpoint for 23 years before joining the Coeur d’Alene staff. He primarily taught English at Sandpoint High, and coached multiple sports, including head wrestling coach for nearly 20 years, leading the program to its last state title in 2003.

Randles replaces Mike Lindquist, who was named principal at Woodland Middle School.

Casey Randles, who wrestled for Mike at Sandpoint the three season before transferring, will be a sophomore on the University of Wyoming wrestling team this year.
