Selkirk firefighters and waste treatment facility employees conducted confined space training in late July. Fire crews, pictured with city water treatment plant personnel, simulated a person below grade in a metal tube above the water. Simulated rescuer was lowered down on the rescue tripod to bring out the patient. The joint training conducted within city departments is an effort to provide the best and most smooth run rescue operations possible, Selkirk Fire personnel said.
