Albert Bates Seger, 77, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, in Sagle, Idaho.

Al was born on July 14, 1941, in Hartford, Connecticut, to Edward and Gladys Seger. He graduated from Simsbury High School in 1959, before serving his country in the United States Air Force.
Al married Karen Thompson in 1964 in California, they lived in the Bay Area. Al began his career with Memorex working with typewriters and trained himself as a computer programmer.
His second marriage was to Dolly Paul in Santa Clara in 1974. During this time, he owned and operated a ceramic art business, Lassen Mold Company.
His third marriage was to Linda Rae Donily in Portland, Oregon, 1988. They lived in Portland, Sandpoint, Idaho, and Spokane, Washington. They were involved in ceramics, and then Al worked for U.S. Bank in Portland in the IT department. He retired in 2006 and moved to Sagle. Here he was a well known artist and photographer, operating Al Seger Photography.
Al enjoyed nature, camping, hiking, traveling and taking photos along the way. He was a crafter, builder, cribbage player, live music enthusiast (especially at Di Luna’s Café), and loved his two cats, Pixel and Prowler.
He is survived by his three children, Laurel (Thomas) Willey of Crows Landing, California, Lisa (Pete) Flores of Austin, Texas, and Jason Seger of Arlington, Oregon; three grandchildren, Timothy Plows, and Joshua and Jessica Flores; a brother, Edward Seger of Simsbury, Connecticut; and special friend, Sharon Gunter of Sandpoint.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Anthony Plows.
One of Al’s favorite places to support was Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge. He enjoyed capturing it with his camera — in any season. When you can, donate in memory of Al,
