Fundraiser launched to aid cat
After discovering a badly injured cat outside the Daily Bee, ad representative Marcie Garcia is determined to give the feline the best life possible.
That means amputation of the cat’s left front paw. “Miracle,” as she has been dubbed underwent surgery at Pend Oreille Veterinary Service on Wednesday. She was eating, drinking and using the litter box prior to her surgery, Garcia said, and the vets tell her that Miracle is expected to make a full recovery — albeit with three legs.
“At first glance I could tell she was way underweight, in pain and scared,” Garcia said of discovering the cat, which vets estimate is between 10-12 years old. “No animal needs to ever experience this.”
When Garcia and a co-worker, Robin Herrin, discovered Miracle, the front left paw or leg was almost completely gone.
“It was literally hanging on by a hair, the doctor said she is a miracle cat,” Garcia said. “She still has a long road to recovery.”
To help fund Miracle’s vet bill, Garcia has launched a GoFundMe account, which can be found at https://bit.ly/2nZmLGP.
