There's a little bit of everything on tap in town

SANDPOINT – There’s a little bit of everything on tap this week, starting with the Sandpoint Literary Collective’s Pop-Up Open Mic tonight at the Pend d’Oreille Winery, as well as the debut performance of Bridges Home this evening at the 219 Lounge.

The play ‘Blind Panic’ is happening again this weekend at the Heartwood Center, NAMI Far North hosts a gourmet farm-to-table dinner on Saturday and the folks from USA Dance have a potluck and dance Saturday at City Beach. Also, Northwest BachFest comes to town for the first time next Wednesday at the Heartwood Center.

Thursday, Aug. 23

Pop-Up Open Mic

Venue: Pend d’Oreille Winery, 301, Cedar St., in Sandpoint.

Time: 6-8 p.m.

Whet your palette with an immersive pairing of your favorite Pend d’Oreille wine and a mélange of fiction, poetry, storytelling, and more at Sandpoint Literary Collective’s Pop-up Open Mic Night.

Pour out your own pieces or simply revel in those crafted by your friends and neighbors. Each writer will have five minutes to muse the masses.

Admission: Free and open to the public.

Bridges Home Trio

Venue: 219 Lounge, 219 First Ave., in Sandpoint.

Time: 8 p.m.

Tami and Dave join forces again with Paul for lots of great tunes and three-part harmonies. This is Bridges Home’s first-ever show at the Two-One-Niner – come be part of the fun.

Admission: Free for those 21 and over.

Daniel Hall

Venue: MickDuff’s Beer Hall, 220 Cedar St., in Sandpoint.

Time: 6-9 p.m.

The progressive folk/rock songwriter-guitarist recently completed his first solo album entitled, ‘Finally.’

Admission: Free for those 21 and over.

‘Unleashed Goes Country.’

Venue: Circle Moon Theatre, located on Highway 211, 3 1/2 miles north of Highway 2, near Newport, Wash.

Time: 6:30 p.m. dinner service, curtain opens at 7:30 p.m.(Also Aug. 25)

The show offers old-time favorites originally performed by the likes of Patsy Cline and Hank Williams. So saddle up for some great food, fun, and music.

Admission: $25 per person for dinner and show, or $12 for show only. Senior and children tickets are $10.

‘Blind Panic’

Blind Panic is an anxiety-filled comedy written/directed by Chris Herron and produced by Unknown Locals.

Tickets are available in advance at Eve’s Leaves and La Chic Boutique, and at the door.

One Street Over

Venue: Pend d’Oreille Winery, 301, Cedar St., in Sandpoint.

Time: 5-8 p.m.

This father and daughter duo will help you groove the night away.

Admission: Free and open to the public.

The Working Spliffs

Venue: 219 Lounge, 219 First Ave., in Sandpoint.

Time: 9 p.m.

This five-piece band features a horn section, two bass players, versatile guitar work, and harmony vocals on reggae, ska, blues, R&B, psychedelic rock and jazz.

Admission: Free for those 21 and over.

Harold’s IGA

Venue: MickDuff’s Beer Hall, 220 Cedar St., in Sandpoint.

Time: 7-10 p.m.

Harold’s IGA is an indie rock band with an ever-changing cast of characters.

Kids’ Mini-Carnival

Venue: Evans Brothers Coffee Roasters, 524 Church St., in Sandpoint.

Time: 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Creations Discovery Museum and Art Studio and Evans Brothers are hosting a kids’ mini carnival. Along with lots of kids’ games, the event will feature face painting and a cruiser bike raffle drawing. A portion of coffee sales will be donated to Creations.

NAMI Far North ‘Farm to Table’ gourmet dinner

Venue: Red Wheelbarrow Produce, located in the Selle Valley

Time: 5:30 p.m.

Enjoy an elegant, multi-course dinner and wine served family style in the gardens of Red Wheelbarrow Produce and featuring chef Peter Tobin. Proceeds benefit NAMI Far North.

Chorale Coeur d’Alene Fall Music Retreat

As part of its ‘Summer Classics’ concert series, Northwest BachFest makes its first concert appearance in Sandpoint, in cooperation with the Music Conservatory of Sandpoint, featuring the Cello-Bration. cello quartet. Artistic Director and 2017 Grammy Award-winning cellist Zuill Bailey will perform with Dr. Melissa Kraut from the Cleveland Institute of Music and young stars of cello, Cicely Parnas and Jared Blajian.

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, DiLuna’s has invited back some of the musicians they’ve hosted over the years. Progressive folk singer Alexa Wildish brings mesmerizing vocals, direct lyrics, and her raw musical exploration on mandolin, octave mandolin and both acoustic and electric guitar.
