SANDPOINT — Rolling into Labor Day weekend with momentum, we are, as the entertainment scene heats up while the weather cools down — a little.

Don’t miss the Cello-Bration Pop-Up Concert this afternoon at Farmin Park, The Lil Smokies play at the Panida tonight and the musically rich “Hearts Open Wide” opens tomorrow night at the Pearl Theater in Bonners Ferry.

This weekend, it’s the Funky Junk Antique Show and Craft Market both days at the Bonner County Fairgrounds, as well as the Sandpoint Renaissance Faire all weekend out on Shingle Mill Road and Peter Lucht performs Sunday afternoon on the glorious grand piano at Pend d’Oreille Winery.

Thursday, Aug. 30

Cello-Bration Pop-Up Concert and Master Class

Venue: Master Class at Music Conservatory of Sandpoint, 110 Main. St.; Pop-Up Concert at Farmin Park, in downtown Sandpoint.

Times: 10:30 a.m. Master Class; 2:30 p.m. Pop-Up Concert

Visiting cellists — Grammy Award winner Zuill Bailey, with Dr. Melissa Kraut, Cicely Parnas and Jared Blajian — will be giving a free concert at Farmin Park. If it’s smoky or raining, the pop-up concert event will move indoors to the Pend d’Oreille Winery.

Zuill and Friends are also doing a two-hour, Cello-bration educational event at the Music Conservatory at Sandpoint this same morning.

Admission: Both the master class and the concert are free and open to the public.

The Lil Smokies

Venue: Panida Theater, 300 N. First Ave., in Sandpoint.

Time: 7 p.m.

Well known for their high-energy performances, The Lil Smokies continue to hone their craft and evolve their sound as they make waves on the national scene. Opening act: Moonshine Mountain.

Trivia Takeover Live

Venue: Pend d’Oreille Winery, 301 Cedar St., in Sandpoint.

Time: 6 p.m.

A fun event for the winery, come check out the trivia action. Teams encouraged, but not required.

An indie rock favorite with great originals and savvy covers.

Fat Lady

Time: 9 p.m.

The group’s ‘60s rock-inspired originals and covers are far from tepid or trepidatious. Admission: Free for those 21 and over.

‘Hearts Open Wide’

Funky Junk Antique Show and Craft Market

Venue: Bonner County Fairgrounds, 4203 N. Boyer, in Sandpoint.

Time: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. (Also on Sept. 2)

This year’s theme is wagons. And the live music is provided by the Bridges Home Trio. Come and take a look, stay and play.

Admission: $5 (good for both days). Kids 12 and under are free.

Sandpoint Renaissance Faire and Epona Equestrian Team

Venue: 784 Shingle Mill Road, east of Sandpoint.

Time: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. (Also on Sept. 2)

To ignite and foster the creativity and curiosity of our community through a lively, enlightening, entertaining experience in a renaissance themed environment, join the fun for two days of chivalry, excitement, and fine entertainment. No outside food or drink and no pets are permitted at the faire. Performers and musicians on stages throughout the day and Epona Equestrian Team will be holding their jousting tournaments at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. both days.

Admission: $10 adults ($8 with a bag of canned goods for the Bonner Community Food Center), $5 for seniors and children ages 5-17, with children under 4 admitted free.

Alexa Wildish Concert

Venue: DiLuna’s Cafe, 207 Cedar St., in Sandpoint.

Time: Doors open at 6 p.m. for dinner and the concert starts at 7:30 p.m.

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, DiLuna’s has invited back progressive folk singer Alexa Wildish, with mesmerizing vocals, direct lyrics, and her raw musical exploration on mandolin, octave mandolin and both acoustic and electric guitar.

‘Andy Irons: Kissed by God’
