CLARK FORK — Sara Hathaway led Clark Fork with 11 points, yet Genesis Prep prevailed 48-30 on Thursday night.

“We played amazing defense with over eight steals,” Clark Fork head coach Jordan Adams wrote in an email. “While we did so great defensively we also executed offensively more than not, however, we could not buy a shot. I know if we keep playing the way we did last night our shots will start to fall.”

Clark Fork couldn’t stop Washington State commit Bella Murekatete, who outscored Clark Fork by herself with eight first-quarter points. Rachel Schroeder added a game-high four 3s.

“This was our second game of the season and one of the hardest teams in our league to beat,” Adams wrote. “I am very proud of how aggressive our team played and I hope they can keep that throughout the season.”

Clark Fork left several points on the board; the Wampus Cats finished 9-16 from the charity stripe.

Genesis Prep plays Cheney (WA) on Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. Clark Fork hosts Noxon (MT) on Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m.
