Let someone dare to challenge today’s version of climate “science” and the useful idiots of the political left come screaming out of the woodwork with their emotional and irrational rantings. It’s all politics, of course. The majority of reasonable people know that climate change has always been a part of our planet and will continue to be until Earth no longer exists. But the unreasonable people only want to use these natural climate changes for the advancement of their particular political cause.

One recent letter writer warns of doom and gloom to come within the next 12 to 34 years and the inevitability of “climate refugees,” while another writer commits the classic logical fallacy of appeal to authority because most of us don’t have “the time, inclination, resources, nor training” that it takes to think for ourselves. Therefore we should believe what the wise men tell us.

People have a right to believe what they want. Henny Penny can believe that the acorn which fell on her head was actually a piece of the falling sky, and that is her right. The lazy-minded one who prefers to accept what those who support his preconceived beliefs say about things certainly has the freedom to do so. But the rational, logical, clear-minded folks who hold to empirically-verifiable evidence have their rights, too.

We will never convince hard core leftists that their beliefs are wrong or even questionable. But there is still hope for those whose minds are not yet made up.
