We are in danger of losing our single-stream recycling at Dufort if we don’t get our collective act together.

Plastic bags are not recyclable, neither are cereal and cracker box inserts, although the boxes are.The last two times I was there, the single stream bins were filled with big unflattened boxes. They go in the cardboard bins on the other side of the attendant’s hut. The attendant has lists of recyclable items, and I think Waste Management can help by putting them — and the hazardous materials pick-up dates — in the envelope with our stickers. It would also be helpful for them to put up some signage at the site, directing us to the proper bins. In the meantime, let’s take charge of keeping this site.
