Shirley Adelle Tucker, 79
Shirley Adelle Tucker, 79, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at her home in Kootenai, Idaho. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint with Pastor Eric Rust officiating.
Shirley was born on July 14, 1939 in Farwell, Minnesota to Carnie and Alice Mickelson. She grew up and attended school in North Dakota. She later earned her GED, worked as a waitress in Spokane and at the Everett Yacht Club, was a licensed aesthetician, and attended Clown school.
Shirley married George Brady in 1955, they later divorced, and in 1978 Shirley married Bruce Tucker in Granite Falls, Washington. Shirley and Bruce lived in Granite Falls for several years before traveling around the U.S. in their RV and eventually moving to Sagle, Idaho, in 1994 to be closer to family.
Shirley attended Cedar Hills Church where Pastor Collin Moody baptized her. She also belonged to A & W homemakers club, STAMPIN UP club, Bunko club, and the Eagles. She enjoyed crafting, stamping, card making, painting, and playing games. She loved spending time with her family and spreading love and laughter in the community. She volunteered at Kinderhaven where she would spend time with the kids and facilitate fun events, such as dressing up as the Easter Bunny and bringing baskets for the kids. Her love, beauty, spunk, and generosity were apparent in everything she did. Above all she loved spending time with her family, especially if we were going to play canasta.
She is survived by her son, Rick Brady of Spokane, Washington; stepchildren, Laura and Dr. George Deland of Sandpoint, Bruce (Kathy) Tucker of Baker City, Oregon, and Wade Tucker of Granite Falls; six grandchildren, Leslie (Jason) Jacobs, Krista (Zachary) Parks, Danielle (Spencer) Swerin, Skyler Tucker, Cheyanne Tucker, and Grant Tucker; four great-grandchildren, Joaquin Jacobs, Kai Jacobs, Braelyn Parks, and Greyson Parks; four siblings, Delbert (Rosella) Mickelson, Elmer (Val) Mickelson, Larry Mickelson and Linda Curry, and Sheryl (Don) Denson; and partner of 14 years, Jack Owens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bruce Tucker, grandson Nathan Tucker, and sister Marcella Steiner.
