Neal William Kincaid, 73
Neal William Kincaid, 73, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Services will be announced at a later date.
Neal was born on Dec. 13, 1945, in Sandpoint, Idaho, to Maurice and Sylvia Kincaid. He attended Adventist schools and graduated high school from Upper Columbia Academy in Spangle, Wash. Neal worked in the family drywall business along with his father and brother Dean. Neal left the drywall business in 1995 and began working for Coldwater Creek where he joined the facilities team. He drove Canada orders to the border, plowed snow, and practiced his skill and abilities to build and repair almost anything.
Upon leaving Coldwater Creek, Neal became the top guy for Dennis and Karen Pence, estate manager, and pup sitter, gardener and tree pruner. Neal was passionate about his responsibilities and held his friends/employers in high esteem. He was most passionate of the groundskeeping at his “church” on the lake.
Neal met Mickey Mattfeldt in 1983. Neal and Mickey shared 35 years of mutual passion for gardening, cutting firewood, Kokanee fishing, hunting, huckleberry picking, camping and riding ATVs.
He is survived by his wife, Mickey Kincaid of Sandpoint; two daughters, Nita (Bill) Jardee of Mead, Wash., and Corinne Flowers and her husband Ian Smith of Sand-point; one son, Jeff Kincaid of Las Vegas; six grandchildren, Brandi Swartz, Jessa Jardee, David Kincaid, Thomas, James and Luke Martin; one great-grandson Braxton Swartz; two brothers, Dean (Jackie) Kincaid of Sandpoint and Glenn (Barbara) Kincaid of Las Vegas; and a sister, Marilyn Hopkins of Olympia, Wash.
Neal was a presence among the tradesmen of the area for 35 years. Renowned for impeccable work and high standards in the trades. A passion for gardening and flowers, a way with birds and a love of dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wayne and Keith Kincaid; and one granddaughter, Zoe Martin.
