Benefit honors Bruhjell, aids PAS

| December 29, 2018 12:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Erik Bruhjell had a passion for all living things — people, animals, plants, and even those critters that could only be seen with a microscope.

Bruhjell was tragically killed in a July car accident. To honor his memory, a benefit for the Panhandle Animal Shelter is being held today from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. at Evans Brothers Coffee in Sandpoint, 524 Church St., and at its Coeur d’Alene cafe, 504 E. Sherman Ave.

Those who knew him well, knew Bruhjell considered Evans Brothers as his signature coffee, the company noted on a posting to its Facebook page.

“Erik has always been a bright light at Evans Brothers Coffee,” the company wrote. “We would like to provide an opportunity for friends and family to gather, in person or online, around something Erik love — animals.”

Toward that end, Evans Brothers will donate 15 percent of cafe sales at both the Sandpoint and Coeur d’Alene cafes to PAS.

“So, stop by, share an Erik story or listen to some,” the posting reads. “Enjoy the coffee and contribute to a great cause.”
