Carl H. Heidenreich Jr., 76

Carl H. Heidenreich Jr., 76, passed into the arms of our Lord, Monday, Jan. 29, 2018 in his home in Cocolalla, Idaho.

There will be a visitation on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018 at the Lakeview Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Funeral services and military honors will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at the North Summit Church in Sandpoint.

Carl was born May 3, 1941 in Flint, Michigan, to Carl and Florence (O’Hara) Heidenreich Sr. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from December 1959 to December 1963. He was honorably discharged at the rank of corporal E-4.

Carl worked and traveled the western United States, including California, Nevada, New Mexico and Alaska, where he met his soul mate, Neomi J. Kelly (Babe), at Chena Hot Springs, Alaska.

Shortly after their marriage on July 23, 1984, they went to work at Barrow, Alaska. Returning to Idaho in 1987, Carl and Babe worked in Moscow and Sandpoint. They left again to work two years in California, returning to Idaho in 1991 and settling in Cocolalla.

Carl loved all of his grandchildren and their friends. He coached basketball for a number of years at Southside Christian School.

He also spent many years transporting kids to both basketball and volleyball games all over this area from Canada to Missoula.

Other than his family, Carl’s passion was music, he had a music family wherever he went.

Carl had a special love for his friends and church family at First Calvary Baptist Church in Arizona in the winters and his friends and church family at Southside Community Church in Idaho in the summers.

Carl is survived by his wife, Babe Heidenreich of Cocolalla; his sister, Dawn Sylvester of Cocolalla; his daughter, Cheryl Brown (Vince) of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; his stepdaughters, Patricia Spray (Jerry) of Cocolalla, Wanda Waggoner (Jim) of Cocolalla, andCynthia Hatcher (Jeff) of Cocolalla; his stepsons, Buck Willford (Debbie) of Rathdrum, and Ken Willford of Athol; 13 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
