POAC presents Montreal Guitare Trio on Sunday
The Canadian Public Broadcaster called them the “hottest” guitar ensemble in Canada. CPC commented on their virtuosity, rigor, creativity and impressive stage presence — and, now we’ll see for ourselves as they lighten up the Panida’s main stage on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m.
Pend Oreille Arts Council is very enthusiastic about this group, and hopes that you’ll be able to attend. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for POAC supporters and $10 for children 18 and under.
This talented musical group composed of Sebastien Dufour, Glenn Levesque and Mark Morin have traveled widely giving concerts in prestigious venues in Europe, New Zealand, Australia and, of course, America. They won the 2011 Opus Award for “concert of the year” and have released seven albums including “Danzas” which pays tribute to the great composers of Spanish music.
These gentlemen put on an amazing show, but don’t take our word for it. Read the review from the North Okanagan Community Concert Association:
“Bubbling with unbridled energy and humour, they plucked, strummed and syncopated their way from jazz to classics, taking a delighted audience with them on their whirlwind trip. Like their music, their performance record is eclectic. They’ve appeared at BB King’s famous Blues Club at one end of the scale – and at the legendary Concertgebouw in Amsterdam at the other, winning awards all along the way. They may be the called the hottest jazz trio in Canada, but they play music of the world – around the world.”
