Bottcher, Plante top women trap shooters

SAGLE — There was a three-way tie atop the Sandpoint Gun Club trap shooters on Sunday, as Louis Dash, Mike McKitrick and Randy Poelstra each nailed 24 of 25 targets during the Spokesman Review Trap Shoot.

Bart Camps and Jerry Schilling each hit 23 clay pigeons, giving the men’s team a score of 95.

Linda Bottcher and Jonna Plante each hit 19 targets, and Barb Camps hit 16 for a team score of 54 for the Sandpoint women shooters.

Poelstra led the men with a 44 (24/20) in the Noxon Trap Shoot, followed by Schilling 43 (23/20), Mike Hunter 41 (21/21), Dash 41 (24/17) and Dave Bannister 41 (21/20) to tie a season high team score of 175.

Bottcher and Plante each carded 35s, and Camps a 34 as the women posted a score of 104 with balanced shooting.

All shooters are welcome every Sunday morning, starting at 9 a.m. at the range.
