Davidson, Brass lead Bulldogs at WSU indoor meet
SANDPOINT — The Bulldog track and cross country teams sent 12 distance runners to the Battle of the Northwest High School Indoor Track meet at Washington State University in Pullman recently.
There were many impressive performances, especially considering it is only mid-winter, due to a committed off-season of mileage and work by a core group of over 35 Bulldog athletes. The runners have trained since early December and accumulated more than 7,000 miles as a team.
Senior Hannah Davidson led the way with a first place showing in the 800, clocking a 2:28 and showing she’ll once again be a factor at state in her best event. Junior Niah Brass was second in the 1,500 in 5:28, and second in the 3,000 in 11:44, while Corina Wallace was third in 12:14 and Chloe Braedt fifth in 12:35.
Top five finishes on the boys side included Garrett Pierce placing third in the 800 (2:09), Kieran Wilder fifth in the 1,500 (4:40) and Pierce fourth in the 3,000 at 9:45 and Wilder fifth at 10:04.
The outdoor track season starts on Friday, at 3:30 p.m. in the SMS gym.
