CLARK FORK — The No. 4 seed Wampus Cats used just five players to score a 67-37 win over No. 5 Kootenai in the loser-out game of the 1A Division II District 1 boys basketball tournament on Tuesday night at Clark Fork High School.

Kobe Banks registered his first triple-double of the season, stuffing the stat sheet with 19 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, four steals and four blocks to lead the Wampus Cats (3-10), who extended their season another day with the win.

Wade Stevens posted a double-double with 21 points and 12 boards, Cameron Garcia added 13 points and three steals, Josh Constantin eight points and three steals and Mathis Heisel six points, five rebounds and three steals for the Wampus Cats, who scored 41 points in the second half despite a lack of depth. The Cats started with six players, but one left the game before the half to shorten the bench to nobody.

Gage Maitland drained three from beyond the arc as part of his team-high 15 points for the Warriors (1-18), who also got eight from Triston Usdrowski in defeat.

The Wampus Cats get the unenviable task of not just facing the reigning 1A Division II state champion Jaguars, but facing them with just five available players. Tipoff is at 4 p.m. at Lakeland High School.
