Food For Our Children benefits from fundraiser

Recently, Food For Our Children Board Members Rosalind Holland and Michele Murphree travelled to Coeur d’Alene to meet with representatives of Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty (CBSR) and Mountain West Bank’s CDA office. As a holiday fundraiser, CBSR partnered with their real estate sta , staff, and members of the bank to raise money by playing bingo during the weekly sales meetings.

Amazingly, they raised $13,290; and, then, CBSR’s owner, Gary Schneidmiller, and CEO Mark Johnson personally matched this amount, resulting in approximately $26,600. They then chose three nonprofits to be the recipients of these funds: Post Falls Senior Center, CDA’s Children’s Village Foundation, and Bonner County’s Food For Our Children!

Realtor Kim Stearns proposed the businesses choose Food For Our Children as a recipient. “Hearing about the children that benefit from Food For Our Children really touched my heart. Being a part of helping these children in need is one of my most rewarding times as a realtor,” said Kim.

Rosalind and Michele returned to Sandpoint with a $7200 check from Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty and a $1666.66 check from Mountain West Bank. Every dollar will go towards buying food for our children in need in Bonner County. “Their generosity is remarkable and represents an important investment in our children and their future,” said Michele Murphree, FFOC board member.
