I applaud Diane Wheeler for pointing out how the “Sandpoint Follies” exhibitionists using “fundraising for the children” as an excuse for making public derrières of themselves. As an advertising professional, I have had the privilege of working for wonderful clients who raise millions of dollars annually — providing enormous true benefit to children both nationally and internationally— all without resorting to any profanity, vulgarity or risqué costumes. There is irony aplenty when “fools” defend themselves by bragging that they bar the door to their “performances” — against the very youth they claim to be doing so much good for.

Wheeler hit a nerve. “Fools” claim they have ‘dignity.’ Photographic — emphasize graphic — evidence from event does not support their claims.

Final word goes to the Dowager: “Vulgarity is never a substitute for wit.”
