Jan. 14, 1968 — POLICE BLOTTER

Eddie Nordgaarden, who operates Eddie’s Shell on First Ave., told police Friday that someone had broken into the station and that a small amount of change is missing from the cash register.

Three vehicles were impounded Monday morning for the violation of the all-night parking ordinance to make way for snow removal work.

Police report a couch was found, well wrecked, at the ice skating rink on Lake St. Jan. 4.

AUGUST WEDDING PLANNED

Mr. and Mrs. Delos Bell of Preston, Idaho announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Jeannette Choules, to Robert W. Bandy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Bandy, Priest River. Both are juniors at the University of Idaho. The bride-elect is majoring in education. Mr. Bandy, a 1965 graduate of Sandpoint High, is majoring in animal science. An August wedding is planned.

BRIAN KRAMER CONTEST WINNER

Brian Kramer, 7-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald M. Kramer, Sandpoint, was notified recently that he had won a Royce-Union K800 bicycle in the “Kellogg’s Who Done It” contest.

Brian, a first grader at Lincoln School, had to complete a puzzle quiz which appeared on the cereal box and then tell in his own words why he liked the cereal.

NEWS FROM KOOTENAI

As soon as the old weather man found out there was a fuel shortage he decided to make the days so balmy that such an item as coal would not even have to be thought of. It all sort of makes one wonder if they, like Rip Van Winkle, didn’t sleep straight through the winter and if this really isn’t the month of April instead of January.

THE HABIT OF TAKING COLD

With many people, taking cold is a habit, but fortunately one easily broken. Take a cold sponge Bath every morning when you first get out of bed — not ice cold, but about 90 degrees F. Also sleep with your window up. Do this and you will seldom take cold. When you do take cold take Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy and get rid of it as quickly as possible. Obtainable everywhere.
