It was refreshing to see nine courageous legislators stand together in Meridian last week and continue to shape the future of Idaho politics.

Rep. Heather Scott, District 1, and Rep. Pricilla Giddings, District 7, were leading the charge to change the good old boy cronyism that has pervaded Idaho politics for too long. Three years ago, only Rep. Ron Nate, District 34, and Rep. Scott had the Intestinal fortitude to begin to change the course. Now with their hands firmly on the rudder, these two along with the others may finally steer the Idaho political ship away from the establishment-driven mess we have seen for years. We look forward to Reps. Scott and Giddings being a force for change in the future.

It is sad that other North Idaho legislators appear to be more concerned with getting re-elected rather than fighting for the people whose trust sent them to Boise in the first place.
