Recently my wife and I were moseying down Sagle Road commenting to each other about the many times we’ve seen the county rig plowing and sanding the road. Probably three times a day on average when it’s snowing as well as seeing the grader (maintainer) scraping the crust down to the blacktop. We’ve also noticed the many culverts replaced and added in order to keep runoff from washing out the road.
We’ve seen a vast improvemnet over the years so it came as some surprise to read the guest opinion of Jan. 2, 2018, from the director of the Road and Bridge Dept. Steve Klatt apologizing for the snow berms left in folks’ driveways. My first thought was, “what a thankless job he’s got.” Next thought was to write and thank all the folks at the Bonner County Road and Bridge Department for all their hard work and persistance in doing all they can to keep the roads clear and maintained.
It’s easy for us sitting in our houses and cars to be the backseat driver. As for the snow berms in our driveways, this is after all Bonner County where snow berms are a fact of life. Again, thanks for all the hard work.
