Sweet victory Sandpoint girls basketball head coach Duane Ward and his wife Marilyn Ward were both surprised and honored when after beating Coeur d’Alene on Tuesday the team presented the couple with cupcakes celebrating their 53rd wedding anniversary. For a longtime local hoops coach like Ward, beating the Vikings in overtime was special in its own right. The surprise, a classy gesture by the team, was merely icing on the cupcake.
