Harold W. Davidson II, 86

Harold W. Davidson II, 86, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

A visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2018, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel.

Harold was born on March 20, 1931, in Freeport, New York, the son of Harold and Frances (Friedrick) Davidson. He grew up and attended school in Freeport, and graduated from high school in Freeport.

Harold attended Hosftra College in New York after serving in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

During Harold’s career he was a policeman in Greenwich, Conn., and Portage, Mich.

In 1971, he became a drug enforcement agent with the Federal Department of Drug Enforcement from which he retired from in 1991 in Spokane, Wash.

Harold married Janet R. Osgood on Dec. 8, 1951, in Hamburg, New York. They made their home in New Jersey for a short time. They moved to a number of places, living in Grenwich, Conn., Portage and Sterling Heights, Mich., Tucson, Ariz., and Spokane, Wash., in 1987.

They settled in Sandpoint following Harold’s retirement in December 1990. Janet passed away in 2003.

Har-old was a member of the National Rifle Associa-tion, the Association of Former Federal Narcotics Agents, the American Legion and Safety-Peace Officers Retired to Sandpoint. Harold enjoyed the shooting sports, hunting and the great outdoors.

He is survived by his three sons, Michael Alan Davidson and wife Wanda K. Welch of Tucson, Ariz., Robert Earle Davidson of Ionia, Mich., and Peter Harold Davidson of Ionia, Mich.; four grandchildren, Diana Vichare, Ivy Welch, Felicia Davidson and John Davidson; one great-grandchild, Ayden Vichare; and his friend and companion, Judith Heston.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

A memorial fund may be made in Harold’s honor to the SPORTS of Sandpoint, and North Idaho Voluntarists, P.O. Box 965, Spirit Lake, Idaho.
