SAR golf tournament raises more than $14,000

SANDPOINT — The 28th annual Selkirk Association of Realtors Golf Tournament was another rousing success, as the fundraising tournament featured a record number of teams, sunny weather and a chance to play at The Idaho Club.
There was more fun than just hitting 18 holes for this year’s golfers. There were also games and prizes sponsored by affiliate and sponsor members. There were raffle tickets for great prizes such as a beach cruiser sponsored in part by Sandpoint Sports, a paddle board, Festival at Sandpoint season passes, gift certificates to area restaurants, a wheel barrow full of “spirits” as well as activity and entertainment gift certificates from area businesses such as Finan McDonald, Schweitzer Mountain Resort, Silverwood and many more.
The food and drinks were amazing, and organizers appreciated the Pack River Store, A&P’s Bar and Grill and Washington Trust for being on the course to help make the day even better. The Idaho Club course was in exceptionally great condition in spite of the rain and flooding earlier this year, and the crew worked hard to make it a memorable experience for everyone.
Most importantly, more than $14,000 was raised for local students. Each year SAR awards thousands of dollars to area high school seniors, college students and local area community service organizations through its Grants and Scholarships Program. The annual golf tournament is the main fundraiser for the program, and a great networking tool for members and the public.
SAR thanks those golfers who participated this year, and the success means the program will have more money to award than in past years. SAR would also like to thank those area businesses and individuals who contributed prizes, time and other services to the success of the tournament.
