Williams earns all-conference honors for Shadow
SANDPOINT — Former Bulldog soccer standout Tanner Williams wrapped up his first season as a member of the Spokane Shadow by earning all National Premiere Soccer League honors for the Northwest Conference, the league announced recently.
Williams, who played in college at Concordia and Evergreen State College and has more recently played for the Kitsap Pumas and overseas in Latvia, had a breakout season in his 10 games for the Shadow, who went 7-0-5 in league play this season.
Williams, a skilled and dangerous midfielder in the attack, tallied five goals and five assists for the Shadow, one of five members of the team to earn honors.
Former Strikers Director of coaching Mike Pellicio was also honored in his first year guiding the Shadow with Northwest Conference Coach of the Year. The San Diego native and Santa Clara product has been with the club since 2015, joining the Shadow after his stint in Sandpoint. He also serves as a coach in the Olympic Development Program with Region IV and Idaho ODP.
Bryan Hernandez, Spencer Wolfe and Mike Ramos were also recognized for their contributions in the unbeaten 7-0-5 season and regular season Northwest Conference championship. It was the first time in the history of the club, founded in 1995, the Men’s First Team finished a season unbeaten.
Ramos, who coached this year at the Strikers Soccer School, had six goals and six assists this season as he played in nine regular season matches. The former Tornoto FC draft pick who also played for University High School in Spokane returned to the Shadow after his most recent professional stop with the NASL’s Puerto Rico FC, where he also became a member of the Puerto Rico National Team.
