Sandpoint Parks and Rec in need of lifeguards
SANDPOINT — Are you looking for a great summer job? Sandpoint Parks and Recreation is in need of lifeguards and is offering a Lifeguard Class on July 27 through Aug. 3.
This is a blended-learning course which takes only 26-29 hours of classroom time, versus the traditional all-classroom course of almost 40 hours. All lifeguards must be at least 16 years-old and become certified before being eligible for hire.
There are large scholarships available to help with the cost of the course, which is normally $250. For those applying to work with Parks and Rec, the course is only $50. So take advantage of this wonderful and inexpensive opportunity.
Contact Jason Wiley, City of Sandpoint Recreation Supervisor, for registration into the next Lifeguard class and job application procedures by July 25.
After you register with Jason, the LG Instructor will email the class syllabus. There is a pre-requisite physical test of a 500 yard swim, 20 yard 10 pound brick retrieval, and two minutes of treading water with no hands, so start getting in shape now if you’re interested.
