SANDPOINT — Volunteers are needed at Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church on Saturday to help out with its community garden project.
There are already 26 beds installed, and volunteers will be installing new beds, along with an automatic watering system. These garden beds will be offered to the neighboring low-income housing residents and Panhandle Health clients, as well as to the rest of the community, free of charge. Michele Murphree, Food for our Children board member, said they also hope to offer free gardening classes, free cooking classes, and free food preservation classes in the future.
The volunteer day will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the church, 1900 Pine St.
