CAREYWOOD — A Friday fire gutted a hay barn on Dockins Road and burned two acres before firefighters stopped the fire’s forward spread.
When Selkirk Fire crews responded to the fire, reported at 1090 Dockins Road, and found the 40-foot by 80-foot hay barn fully enguled with the fire extending to the surrounding brush. Selkirk firefighters, along with Idaho Department of Lands firefighters, made an aggressive attack on the fire and stopped the forward spread of the fire at about two acres.
Fire crews remained on scene throughout the day, Selkirk Fire reported on its Facebook page.
The fire, which required extensive mop-up, is under investigation.
