Same free meals, but new location
SANDPOINT — The Seventh-day Adventist Church has run its Agape Cafe out of the Sandpoint Teen Center for several years, providing free meals to the community.
As the Teen Center building recently sold, however, Pastor Alvaro Sauza from the Seventh-day Adventist Church said they will continue to offer free meals, though the Agape Cafe has been relocated to the church. The Agape Cafe is managed by church volunteers, he said, and as the food is prepared by different volunteers and varies from week to week, but it’s "a nice little spread."
"It’s in consideration of the homeless primarily, but we just kind of open it up to everyone," Alvaro said. "We just want the atmosphere to be communal and make whoever comes feel welcome, and have a good meal on us."
Meals are served each Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Seventh-day Adventist Church is located at 2235 Pine St.
