I found Mr. Lockwood’s letter in the Daily Bee (Sunday, July 15) to be very interesting if devoid of facts.
Maybe he should do some research before he tries to pillory BNSF Railway as a means of touting his dubious credentials as a potential “skilled manager” of Bonner County. If he had done any reading at all, he would know that BNSF has happily provided the “large stockpile [of spill response materials] right here to use at a moment’s notice” that he demands. He also stated that “improvements come from serious negotiations” without seeming to understand that serious negotiations with major transportation companies are not accomplished by taking cheap shots at them in the letters to the editor section of the local newspaper.
County commissioners need to be able to treat all the people and the businesses of the county with the respect that is their due. His letter makes me question if he is capable of any real objectivity, or if he would rather just pander to the far left.
