Gerald Edward 'Gerry' Warren, 71
Gerald Edward “Gerry” Warren, 71, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, in Dover, Idaho.
A celebration of Gerry’s life will be held in September at Idaho Pour Authority on Cedar Street in Sandpoint.
Gerry was born on March 11, 1947, in Chicago, Ill., to Charles and Betty Warren. He graduated from J. Sterling Morton West High School in Berwyn, Ill., where he started on the varsity basketball team and played catcher on the baseball team. He attended Bradley Univer-sity and received his mechanical engineering degree before earning his master’s degree in jet propulsion from Purdue University.
Gerry worked as an engineer for Danly Machine, and Nevada Power and Light in Las Vegas. He served a 25-year career as senior engineer for Northrop Aviation, where he worked on the design team for the B-2 Stealth Bomber.
After retiring he moved to Dover, and fulfilled his dream of living near the water.
Gerry enjoyed volunteering at the Festival at Sandpoint and hosting the weekly ’60s Show on KRFY Community Radio in Sandpoint. He truly loved his work at KRFY, and was always ready to participate in their membership drives and fundraising activities with enthusiasm. He had found his niche in Sandpoint, among like-minded friends who also loved music. His presence will be greatly missed.
Gerry really knew and enjoyed sports. He frequently attended Sandpoint Bulldog home games in the fall. He also enjoyed films, and was an avid reader.
He is survived by his brother, Richard (Marie) Warren of Dover; and cousin, Barbara Lee Brehm of Texas.
Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint is handling his arrangements.
