Fast pitch clinics offered

| June 6, 2018 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Learn the art of pitching from one of the best to ever come out of Idaho, as Logan Conro, formerly Logan Free, will be hosting a pair of free fast-pitch softball clinics on Saturday, June 9 at the Sandpoint Middle School field.

A clinic for 7th grade and under kids will be held from 9-10 a.m., while a clinic for 7th grade and older will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. Cost of each clinic is $20, and each pitcher must bring a catcher (a parent on a bucket will suffice).

Free set a couple of state records during her tenure as a Bulldog, including 20 strikeouts in a game and three home runs in a game. She went on to become a two-time All-Southern Conference pitcher at Georgia Southern. She’ll be joined at the clinics by her dad, Jeff Free, and current Sandpoint head coach Elizabeth Hawkins-Williams.

Conro said it will be a chance to get hands-on coaching from a former Division 1 college player. She will also offer a hitting clinic at a later date.

“I’m invested in the kids and want to give back,” said Conro. “You’ll get one-on-one coaching, and can develop your skill as a softball player.”

To sign up, or for more information, call Conro at 843-540-3172. Players can also show up prior to the start of each clinic to register.
