Shirley Claire Barker

Shirley Claire Barker went to meet her Lord and savior on June 4, 2018. Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on September 27, 1930, to Viva C. and Donald F. Monroe.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert W. Barker. She is survived by her children, Jane Hankins of Mustang, Oklahoma, Donald Barker of Spirit Lake, Idaho, and Anne Barker of Spirit Lake; her grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel Savannah, Christopher, Weslie, Kara, Tammy, and Melanee; as well as six great-grandchildren.

She was a teacher for 35 years in Bonner County School District, San Diego, California and Goodyear, Arizona. She was an avid quilter and true believer in God’s saving grace.

Services will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Pine Ridge Community Church, 1428 W. First, Newport, Washington.
