I recently came from spending three straight days on City Beach. Sunny and warm all three days, with the beach crowded with swimmers and not one lifegard in sight all three days. How can the city put these kids at risk? Do we have to have a child drown before we protect them? The lifeguards, themselves, do a great job when they are on duty, but someone is making the call that Memorial Day weekend is not important enough to have life saving services to protect our children on such a busy holiday. I hope we don’t have to learn the lesson the hard way. Please find a way.
