SAR hosting 28th annual Charity Golf Tournament

| June 9, 2018 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Tee it up while supporting local students, as the Selkirk Association of Realtors will hold its annual charity golf tournament benefiting the grants and scholarships program on Friday, June 22 at 10 a.m. at The Idaho Club.

The tournament is a scramble format with four-person teams, held at the only Jack Nicklaus designed course in Idaho. One lucky golfer could win a car from Pierce Auto for a hole-in-one shot, and everyone will get a chance to sink a 50-foot putt for a chance to win $1,000. There are also prizes for closest to the pin, longest putt, first and last place teams.

Each person’s or team’s entry fee includes greens fees, cart, lunch and burgers or brats after the round, plus live entertainment. There will also be wonderful raffle prizes available to those who wish to purchase raffle tickets.

The Selkirk Association of Realtors is a non-profit organization whose membership comprises Realtors, Appraisers and other businesses affiliated with and supporting the real estate profession. Grant funds are raised through the Association’s fundraisers, including the annual golf tournament, the major fundraiser in support of its Grants and Scholarships programs.

Each year SAR gives thousands of dollars to local groups in need of funding for their community projects and programs in Bonner and Boundary Counties, and to graduating seniors and continuing college students. In the last eight years, SAR has given more than $60,000 to local students and nonprofits, and community service groups in Bonner and Boundary Counties such as Bags of Love, Northside School, Sandpoint Senior Center, Bonner Soil and Water Conservation District, SHS Finance Fair, Village Green Project, Community Cancer Services, Bonner Community Food Bank, Marine Corp League, Sandpoint Area Seniors’ Daybreak Program, Bonner Community Hospice, Bonner Homeless Task Force, Panhandle Special Needs, Clark Fork Food Bank, Priest River Senior Center, Kinderhaven, VFW, Bonners Ferry Habitat for Humanity and KRFY Radio, just to name a few.

One hundred percent of the proceeds go directly into the Grants and Scholarships Fund.
